Exploring innovative teaching and learning through excellence and dedicated leadership

As the district’s Emmy Award nominated television station, WPDS-TV14 is the FCC licensed educational learning channel for the Pinellas County School district. The mission of the television station is to highlight excellence in the classroom, showcase innovative practices to raise student achievement and provide the community with quality educational television programming supporting teaching and learning at all levels throughout Pinellas County.

This week's PCS Journal with Al Ruechel features an interview with Superintendent Dr. Michael Grego. Topics include student testing, teacher assessments and the 2015 Outstanding Educator finalist. PCS Journal airs daily at noon and 8pm.

 In the December ediotion of Science Rocks, STEM coordinator Laura Spence takes us to the 2014 BLUE Ocean Film Festival where PCS students meet internationally renown enviromentalists, world explorers and documentaray film makers. Laura also shows us a "STEM on a Shoestring" classroom lesson and we visit the Engineering Expo at Douglas L. Jamerson Elementary School.

 Being Fit Matters is a new fitness program that includes members of the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Florida's PE Teacher of the Year Angella Carapella  and the Lakewood Spartans football team. Being Fit Matters airs Monday and Friday evening at 7:30pm.
