As the district’s Emmy Award nominated television station, WPDS-TV14 is the FCC licensed educational learning channel for the Pinellas County School district. The mission of the television station is to highlight excellence in the classroom, showcase innovative practices to raise student achievement and provide the community with quality educational television programming supporting teaching and learning at all levels throughout Pinellas County.
In the new PCS Journal with Al Ruechel, Al talks to PCS Superintendent Dr. Michael Grego about the state budget, summer bridge and teacher professional development over the summer break. In addition, PCS Journal Magazine features a variey of inspiring graduation stories and ceremoneis from around the district. PCS Journal airs everyday at 7am, noon and 8pm.
Science Rocks Pinellas has won it's second TELLY award for excellence in educational television programming! This month's episode takes you to the campus of the University of South Florida in St. Petersburg for the annual STEM Expo where students display their STEM inqury projects. Also, STEM Academy students are at USFSP for the debut of the DUKE Energy million dollar solar panel array and learn all about solar energy. Science Rocks Pinellas airs Monday and Friday at 7pm.
Coming in July, Spectrum of the Arts at Walker's Rising Stars and a collection of full-length graduation ceremonies from Tropicana Field.
