Judging Criteria:
Originality
- This consists of an innovative approach to process, concept, and subject matter. The entry must embody innovative or distinct attributes to achieve the intended purpose as described in the application. Originality often manifests in work that goes beyond a classroom assignment.
Technical Skill
- This consists of technical skills of writing, videography and editing and the ability to use technical skills to tell a compelling story. This includes audio quality, camera techniques, video quality (exposure, focus, and lightning), graphics, special effects and editing technique. The production techniques should enhance the intended purpose of the video as described in the application. Technical execution should be flawless.
Emergence of a Personal Vision
- Simply stated, what does the video say-what message is conveyed? Is the message conveyed in a clear and uncluttered manner? How well organized is the piece? Does it communicate to the viewer? Does the video contain informational, entertaining or motivating material consistent with the intended purpose of the video as described in the application?
Script and Logistics Documentation
- All entries must include a final script with defined editing instructions. The Documentation pertains to the planning, shooting schedules, storyboarding and execution of the production. The students must submit their storyboards and planning documents which should include a list of contacts.
