Student Involvement Opportunities

One of the primary missions of WPDS-TV14 is to enhance the educational opportunities for the students of Pinellas County in the field of television production. With the creation of our Advanced Television Production Studies program, students get "hands-on" professional television experience working on a variety of projects within the school system and community partners.

In addition, WPDS-TV14 helps to provide scholarship opportunities for high school television production students through a variety of programs like Knology Sports Scholars, Walker's Rising Stars and the Crime Stoppers PSA contest.

WPDS-TV14 also produces the annual student video awards programs for Pinellas County and the state of Florida. The Student Film Festival-Home of the EMA's and the Jim Harbin Student Video Awards events also include workshops aimed to teach students the newest video techniques and innovations from local professionals.

If you would like information on joining the Advanced Television Production Studies Program contact Mike Roy at roym@pcsb.org or Sean Clark at clarkse@pcsb.org.
